Letters from Nicholas were written from Marmora, Blairton, Rat Portage [Kenora], Macdonald (Manitoba), Millbridge, Coe Hill Mines, L'Amable Station, and Turriff.

Gatling Company owned the Gatling and Tuttle shafts at the Delora Mine, which were first opened by the Gatling Gold and Silver Mining company in 1873.
