Tweedsmuir history of the Chatterton Women's Institute, compiled by Nora Prest between 1955 and 1967. Includes photographs, maps, and news clippings relating to the Halloway area of Sidney township, Hastings County, Ontario. Master negative of microfilm of Tweedsmuir histories.
The photographs are arranged by subject matter and cover activities in and around the town of Deseronto, Ontario. The majority date from the late nineteenth century and many depict the lumber-related industries of the Rathbun Company in Deseronto. There are also photographs of school groups, churches, railways, First World War airfields and portraits of Deseronto citizens.
Florrie Sexsmith earned $1.00 per week by writing a column for the Deseronto Post newspaper. They include advice, history lessons, decorating tips, travelogues and recipes.
