Trenton Lodges

File contains clippings of local newspaper articles about local groups generally with Christian faith based backgrounds, that do charitable work to promote a sense of goodwill in their communities. Some of these institutions include; Trenton Masonic Temple, Boy Scouts, the Oddfellows, and others.

Trenton Highlight Brochure 1959

File contains two printed brochures produced by the Trenton Business and Professional Women's Club of District 11, entitled “Highlight Brochure and did you know,” which provide historical highlights of Trenton and its environs from Champlain's visit to the area in 1615 to 1959.

Trenton Fire Department

File contains a newspaper clipping regarding plans to revive Fireman's Day, a local firetruck race and competition in Trenton in 1957. Also present are newspaper articles regarding the official opening of the new Trenton Fire Hall in June, 1968.

Trenton : The Evolution of Trenton

File contains a printed booklet entitled “The Evolution of Trenton Ontario,” published in 1913, providing a history of the community from the late 18th century, its incorporation as a town, and the industrial and commercial development of the centre. Also present are several newspaper articles concerning Trenton's evolution into a town in 1880.

Thurlow Township : miscellaneous notes / by Mrs. Mary Plumpton

File contains manuscript notes by Mary Plumpton including lists of Thurlow Town Clerks, 1798-1846; transcripts of pages from an unidentified diary 1870-1872, and notes on individuals appearing in Plumpton's work, The Rambling River. Also present is a photocopied printed excerpt from the 1879 Hastings County Directory with entries for Canifton[sic] listing residents by name and occupation.

Thurlow Township : historical notes from 'The Rambling River'

File contains a typescript excerpt of The Rambling River, written and compiled by Mary G. Plumption, concerning the early settlement of Thurlow Township from 1784, together with brief biographical information on Lord Thurlow, and Baron Rawdon, Earl of Moira. Also present are four printed lists of Thurlow Township land holders by name and date of patent from 1798-1818.

File contains a printed illustrated book cover of 'The Rambling River,' by Mary G. Plumpton. Also present are two newspaper articles regarding: i) the official dedication of the 'The Rambling River,' the centennial year history publication of Thurlow Township; ii) an exhibition of Thurlow Township school section minute books dating to the 1850s.
