'Hasty-Pee's' Colour Presentation 1964

File contains a printed booklet entitled “Presentation of Colours to the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment by the Honourable W. Earle Rowe, P.C.” 17 May 1964. Ploughing Match : official report, Hastings County, 1961

File contains a typescript Report of the International Plowing Match, 1961 by the local committee of the Hastings County Plowmen's Association. The report provides an overview of the events and reports by various committees involved in the planning and execution of the plowing match. A one-page financial statement of revenues and expenses is included.

International Plowing Match 1961

File contains printed promotional material for the 1961 International Plowing Match including an official programme of events, and a programme for a banquet held at the Belleville Armouries, 6 October 1961. Also present are three photocopied pages of programmes, badges and entry passes; a silk ribbon bearing the inscription “International Plowing Match, City of Belleville, County of Hastings"; and a silk ribbon badge for International Plowing Match official, T.G. Wrightmeyer.

File contains a newspaper article from the Ontario Intelligencer, 8 December 1960 concerning the selection of an area outside of Belleville for the 1961 International Plowing Match, to be held on October 4-7, 1961. Also present are three printed, numbered admission tickets to the Ploughing Match, 1961.

Ploughing Match : planning and programmes

File contains typescript correspondence, reports and planning documents relating to the preparation for the 1961 International Plowing Match in 1961. Includes list of officers and local committee members. Also present are: a printed official programme and prize list, printed pamphlets and a poster for the International Plowing Match which was held at the Farley Vermilyea Farm and neighbouring farms north of Belleville, October 4-7, 1961.

Paul Lamp Collection : Centennial project

File contains a typescript copy of a letter dated 10 January 1967 from Mrs. G. D. Williamson, Publicity Convener, Hastings County Museum to The Editor, Centennial Ontario, describing the acquisition of the Paul Lamp Collection and its exhibition under the title “10,000 Years of Light,” as part of the City of Belleville's and the Hastings County Museum's Centennial year project.

Northumberland Historical Society : clippings

File consists of several newspaper clippings concerning activities of the Northumberland County Historical Society in1956-1957. Includes clippings related to the acquisition of the historic Barnum House and its conversion to a museum in 1957. Also present is a newspaper clipping and photograph dated 29 July 1959 concerning the unveiling of a historical plaque at Presqu'ile Provincial Park commemorating the loss of the schooner 'Speedy,' which sank in 1804 in Lake Ontario off Presqu'ile Point.

Napanee Centennial

File contains a newspaper article concerning the Lennox and Addington County Historical Society's preparation for the centennial celebration of Napanee and Lennox and Addington Counties in 1964. Also present is a postcard and stamped envelopes addressed to Edward Daly, Napanee, ca. 1880.
