Rebellion of 1837 / G. Boyce

File contains extensive typescript notes transcribed by Gerry Boyce from newspaper, archival and secondary sources concerning recruitment of volunteers, and military action in the Rebellion of 1837. Also present are mimeographs of two essays concerning Hastings County connections and military contributions to the defence of Upper Canada during the Rebellion.

Hastings County Museum Official Opening 1961

File contains letters regarding the official opening of the Hastings County Museum in 1961, several invitations to the opening, and a newspaper article discussing the opening. There are two booklets listing artists in Hasting and Prince Edward County, a handout from the Hastings County Museum with directions to Glanmore, and a poster from 1975 promoting a talk by Mary Beacock Fryer (author of Loyalist Spy). There is also an itinerary from 1961 for a trip to Upper Canada Village. There is also a pamphlet about Glanmore.

Madoc : Hannah family genealogy

File contains a typescript extract from the Hastings County Court Registry Office concerning the ownership of a piece of land in Madoc Township, granted to C. Gordon Hannah in 1861. The lot is not identified, but information from the land index maintained by the Marilyn Adams Genealogical Research Centre suggest that it is lot 24 in the seventh concession of Madoc Township.

File contains original and photocopied manuscript histories of the settlement and early development of Bannockburn including the lumbering and sawmilling industries. Includes a printout of a webpage on Maitland House (available on the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine at https://web.archive.org/web/20010805101431/http://casa-de.vrx.net/buildings/) and an article from the Fall 2019 Country Roads magazine about the conversion of St. Bartholomew Anglican Church in Bannockburn into a private home.

File contains a printed booklet ca. 1961 entitled History of King Baldwin Preceptory, No. 6 Belleville, Ontario. Also contains a printed obituary dated August 4, 1928, of Rt. Em. Kt. Richard Henry Spencer, Presiding Preceptor of the Belleville No. 6 King Baldwin Preceptory. Also present is a printed booklet of by laws of the King Baldwin Preceptory ca. 1928, and blueprints of the Preceptory Hall, 1926.
