History

Don Foster was a life-long resident of Belleville, Ontario. He married Rita Douglas (1918-2008) and they had one child, William Alexander 'Billy' Foster (1939-1958). After Billy's death in a car accident in 1958, the Fosters developed an annual Christmas display at their Emily Street home. Don Foster worked as an engineer for the Canadian National Railway and served as an alderman for the City of Belleville.
