Quinte Women's Institute

Quinte Women's Institute was organized on August 7, 1907 at Cleize schoolhouse on Highway 2 east of Pt. Anne Lane. Meetings were held on the second Tuesday of each month in the home of one of its members. The institute was disbanded in 1994.

Quinte's Isle Tourist Association

A group of people interested in promoting tourism in Prince Edward County established the Quinte’s Isle Tourist Association in 1952.
In 1964, the association purchased the office at 116 Main Street in Picton with the backing of three directors.
The Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce held the same office location, and therefore the merging of the two organizations was discussed.
On February 7, 1996 the two groups merged resulting the Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism and Commerce.

He was a Provincial Land Surveyor active in Hastings County from the 1940s-1960s. His son, Thomas S. Ransom was also a surveyor in the local area. John Ransom died on October 13, 1962.
