Biographical history

George Skinner Tickell was born in England in 1829. He became apprenticed to a cabinet maker in 1843. He and his wife Hannah arrived in Canada in 1857 and George established a furniture manufacturing business in Belleville with a factory on Foundry Street and a store on Front Street.
