Plan of Glebe Property in the Town of Belleville

A certified reproduction of the "Plan of Glebe Property, north of Bleakers Grove in town of Belleville, Owned by (Rev.) John Grier, part of Lot # 4 in the 1st Concession of Thurlow." Surveyed by John J. Haslett, P.L.S. in 1851.

This copy was made in 1972 of plan #11, as registered in the Hastings Land Registry Office.

Salvation Army

File contains newspaper clippings regarding plans for the erection of a new Salvation Army Citadel in east Belleville in 1966, and the opening of a Salvation Army camp for children at Roblin Lake in July 1956. Also present is an October 10, 1925 issue fo the War Cry, the official publication of the Salvation Army, and a printed poster announcing a concert by the Salvation Army International Staff Band at Belleville Collegiate Institute ca. 1950s.

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Stirling

File contains a Stirling News article dated 1 November 1956 commemorating the 102nd anniversary of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Stirling. Also present is an Ontario Intelligencer article, 31 January 1959 concerning a farewell celebration in honour of Reverend Walker, departing pastor of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

The Belleville Young Men's Christian Association

The file contains two copies of the September 1986 issue of the magazine "What's Happening" published 8 times a year by Susan K. Bailey Enterprises Ltd. Belleville. Pages 18-21 contains an article titled "The Belleville Young Men's Christian Association (Y.M.C.A.)" with picture, written by Elaine Preston, Researcher, Hastings County Historical Society.

World Day of Prayer Meeting Minutes

The file contains the minute book containing the minutes of the meetings of the executives that arrange for the program on the "International Day of Prayer". The book was started in 1926 by the Women's Missionary Society in Belleville, Ontario and records the minutes through to 1984.
