Biographical history

Richard Douglas Ponton was born in Sidney Township, Hastings County, Ontario on 4 October 1889, the son of William Nisbet Ponton and May Elizabeth Sankey. He signed up to serve in the First World War in September 1914. He worked as a barrister and judge and died at the age of 43 of myocarditis, deemed to be as a result of his war service.
