Northrup, Hon. William B., M.P. East Hastings : speech on the Coronation Oath, and obituary

File contains a printed copy of speech by Hon. W.B. Northrup, M.P.(Conservative) East Hastings, Ontario, March 1, 1901, concerning parliamentary debates surrounding the provisions of the Coronation Act. Includes a reprint of an obituary for Hon. William B. Northrup, October 22, 1925. Also present is a small decorative metal plate bearing the inscription W.B. Northrup, June 4, 1879 together with an intricate design of a lily-of-the-valley.

File contains a newspaper article concerning a rally of the New Party, forerunner of the New Democratic Party, in South Hastings Riding in June, 1961, featuring a speech by Walter G. Pitman, M.P. for Peterborough Riding. Also present is the October, 1967 edition of the 'New Democrat' Vol. 7, no.1 concerning the Ontario election campaign in October, 1967.

File contains a typescript brief history of the life of the Honourable Edmund Murney, member of the Provincial Legislature of Upper Canada and Canada West during the period 1836 to 1857. Also contains a newspaper article from The Ontario Intelligencer, 13 August 1964 concerning the Murney-Faulkner House, West Bridge Street, Belleville. Includes a reprint of a drawing of the home.
