Murney, Edmund, M.P.P.

File contains a typescript brief history of the life of the Honourable Edmund Murney, member of the Provincial Legislature of Upper Canada and Canada West during the period 1836 to 1857. Also contains a newspaper article from The Ontario Intelligencer, 13 August 1964 concerning the Murney-Faulkner House, West Bridge Street, Belleville. Includes a reprint of a drawing of the home.

Napanee Glass Factory

File contains a newspaper article concerning the activities of the Lennox and Addington Historical Society including an excavation of the site of the Napanee Glass Factory by a team of archaeologists from the Royal Ontario Museum.

Northumberland County History

O'Hara's Mill Conservation Area

File contains printed booklets entitled respectively, “The Official Opening of the O'Hara Mill Conservation Area...Wednesday, July 24th, 1957,” and “O'Hara Mill : An Historical Monument Being Preserved by the Moira River Conservation Authority,” the latter of which contains photographs of the Mill and associated artifacts. Also included is a photocopied booklet entitled “The O'Hara Mill Project," by the Moira River Conservation Authority, 1956. Also present are several newspaper clippings regarding the restoration of the O'Hara Mill in the 1950s .

Bankers became insolvent; 2) A blank nomination form the 1850s to propose offering membership to the Independent Order of Good Templars; and 3) a letter from 1879 regarding obtaining land from Canada Company to build a road.

File contains a newspaper clipping printed in 1961 titles “50 Years Ago”, discussing events that occurred on November 14th, 1911; including: a fire at the Victoria Hotel in Belleville, census results for Hastings County, and Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Stewart turning over command of the 15th Regiment to Major Lorne W. Marsh.
