Belleville's Heritage

The file contains two copies of Belleville's Heritage, published by the Hastings County Historical Society; a partial inventory of old buildings; one from 1978 and volume II from 1983.

Architecture in Canada

The file contains a copy of the publication "Journal of the Society for the study of Architecture in Canada" Vol. 30, no. 2, 2005. On pages 25-38 there is an article (with pictures) titled "Joseph Connolly in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kingston, Ontario. It discusses churches in Belleville, Kingston, Kemptville, Prescott, Tweed, Grafton, Gananoque and Picton.

The file contains: 1) original indenture of sale between Wellington Murney & Clarence Bartlet, dated 26-June-1852 for 1/2 acre land, part of Lot 1, Town of Belleville; 2) original crown sale grant to John Allan, dated 15-Dec-1854 for 100 acres the east half of Lot #22, Second Concession, Township of Rawdon; 3) original copy of an Assignment of Mortgage, dated 30-Sept-1875, between Anne Morton Campion and Charles Wallace Bell; 4) memorandum of agreement , dated 6-Dec-1886 between George Dean Dickson and Albert Robinson (acting as agent for his wife), for the purchase of the property known as the C.W. Bell House and grounds (Lots 30 & 31 and part of 32, First Concession in the Township of Thurlow now in City of Belleville.

Belleville Heritage - St. Thomas' Anglican Church

The file contains: 1) a newspaper clipping with a photograph of the Belleville CPR station, 1913; 2) a program from the Sesquicentennial celebration of St. Thomas' Anglican Church 1818-1968; 3) a copy of the publication Belleville's Heritageby the Hastings County Historical Society (a partial inventory of old buildings), 1978.

R.J. Graham

The file contains copies of articles from the publication "Remember When", the first one is titled "The ghost of Knight came calling one afternoon", about the former Graham house located R.R. 2 Belleville built 1918 (currently the Montrose Inn). The second article is titled "In war and peace Deacon Bros. had something to suit everyone", about the Deacon Bros. factory on Dundas Street in Belleville. Included in the file is stationary from R. Bruce Graham, 367 Front Street, Belleville (Graham Food Products Limited).

Intelligencer Time Capsule

The file contains a number of newspaper clippings from the 1930's about local residents and buildings. Also contains a writing titled "The History of Friend Andrews told by Alexander Andrews (1959). Dated 20-Jan-1961 and is a genealogy of the Andrews family.
