Royal Visit

The file contains three newspaper clippings about the Royal Visit of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip to Kingston. Included in the articles are references to the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory and presentations by the Indigenous people. Also, during the same visit, in Toronto the meeting of the Royals with Peter Ramsay of Madoc.

Willson, John Metcalfe - Papers

File contains original documents, presented to the Hastings County Historical Society in 1960; Biographical sketch written on 22-September-1869 covers the years 1862 to 1869 when Willson was teaching school in the southern part of Hastings County; educational papers; legal papers; correspondence and a poem entitled "To The Mohawks".

Rev. Robert McDowell, Presbyterian minister, 1768-1841

File contains a one-page printed Ontario Historical Society biography of Reverend Robert McDowell first regular Presbyterian Missionary to Upper Canada who served in the Bay of Quinte and Kingston areas from 1798 to 1841. Also contains a printed transcript of a memorial tablet commemorating the career of Reverend McDowall and his role as a founder of Queen's University.
