History

Amy Robinson Futcher was born 13 October 1931 near St. Thomas, Ontario, the child of John Robinson Futcher and Dorothy Elliott Horton. She graduated form the Health Sciences program at the University of Guelph in 1956. She married Roy Kenneth Jeffrey in 1957 and they moved to Belleville in 1958. Robin Jeffrey worked as a teacher of home economics and English at Quinte Secondary School. She was elected to Belleville City Council in 1968 and successfully ran for Mayor in 1972. She was re-elected by acclamation in 1974 and resigned in 1975 to run as the Progressive Conservative candidate in the Ontario election of that year.

Robin Jeffrey died on 24 July 2022.
