Zwick's Island

The file contains a newspaper article from the Ontario Intelligencer. It is a letter to the Editor from T.G. Wrightmeyer about the proposition by the then Mayor Haig to change the name of Zwick's Island. The article gives the history of this parcel of land dating back to 1790 given to Captain Phillip Zwick and subsequent generations.

Eighteen photo-postcards of Hastings County scenes, taken by William Freeman. They include images of Bannockburn (2), Eldorado (4), Moscow (1), and Trenton (3). Items donated in 2011 include a photograph of Oran Tripp at Trenton, snapshots of the Rose family of Millbridge, a Model T at Bannockburn in 1911 and three C.N.R. engines at Bannockburn in 1912.

The area in mention concerns the West Lake Islands, in Prince Edward County. Surveyed by Duncan McDonell Greenfield and John McNaughton, P. L. S. in May and June 1862. Scale: 8 chains to an inch.
