This copy was made in 1972 of plan #283, as registered in the Hastings Land Registry Office.

Portrait of George Hamilton Backus (1830-1904). He worked for Brown's foundry in Belleville, and was a member of City Council in 1885 and a public school trustee. He was also a member of the volunteer fire brigade and associated with the 49th Hastings Rifles. He was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church.
