Canada – Southern Boundary Treaty of Paris 1783
File contains a copy of “The Defenitive Treaty of Peace and Friendship Between His Britannick Majesty, and the United States of America”, signed at Paris on Sept. 3rd 1783; including in the peace agreement is the Canada (Southern) Boundary.
Sidney : First Minutes of Township
File contains photocopied manuscript lists of persons nominated for township and parish officers in Sidney Township, 1790-1819. Also contains a newspaper article regarding the establishment of the Sidney Township Council and highlights of its proceedings to the 1930s. Also present is photocopied typescript outline of the history of Sidney Township and Trenton from ca. 1787-1819.

Reproduction of a map showing "the Routes Lt. Gov. J. G. Simcoe took on trips" throughout Upper Canada from March 1792 to September 1795. The map was charted by Lt. Gov. Simcoe. A good depiction of the area now referred to as Southern Ontario and his plans for a capital there - "London." This map was published as part of "Charting Our Past" from the Archives of Ontario by Stonehouse Publications.
Scale: about 20 miles to an inch.

Thurlow Township : miscellaneous notes / by Mrs. Mary Plumpton
File contains manuscript notes by Mary Plumpton including lists of Thurlow Town Clerks, 1798-1846; transcripts of pages from an unidentified diary 1870-1872, and notes on individuals appearing in Plumpton's work, The Rambling River. Also present is a photocopied printed excerpt from the 1879 Hastings County Directory with entries for Canifton[sic] listing residents by name and occupation.

Reproduction of a map showing new settlements, townships, counties etc.in the province of Upper Canada as of April 12, 1800. The total area spans from Quebec to Lake Huron and from Lake Michigan to New Hampshire then south to Pennsylvania in the U.S.A. This was the first printed map of Upper Canada, showing all settlements since 1784. Charted by D. W. Smith, Esq., Surveyor General London and published by W. Faden.
This map was published by Stonehouse Productions as part of "Charting Our Past" from the Archives of Ontario.

File contains a photocopied printed and manuscript discharge certificate from military duty for Sergeant Robert Warren, Marmora who served from 1812 to 1819 in the Seventy Sixty regiment. Also present is a photocopied manuscript list of standing committees of the Hastings County Council, 1857.
