File contains two manuscript declarations by Thomas Douglas, Rawdon Township Clerk, dated 19 January 1863, certifying that James Cooke, and Robert Lison were duly elected as Reeve and Deputy-Reeve, respectively, for the Township of Rawdon. Also present is a completed printed affidavit certifying George Conley's election as Reeve of the Township of Rawdon, 16 January 1866. Also includes a manuscript By Law no. 85, issued by the Council of the County of Hastings on 8 September 1860 concerning the disposal of road allowances in the Township of Rawdon.

File contains original correspondence between the Township of Thurlow and the Corporation of the County of Hastings, dealing with arrears in tax monies not paid by Thurlow. It also contains a motion from a meeting of Municipal Council of the County of Hastings along with a Statement dated 31st of December 1863.

File contains two manuscript petitions submitted to the Warden and Councillors of the County of Hastings concerning the inability of the incorporated village of Trenton to pay the annual county rate. Also present are : a manuscript report of a special committee consisting of Billa Flint and others investigating the matter and recommending financial relief for the town; and two manuscript resolutions of the council regarding relief from the county rate for Trenton.
