Bay of Quinte Tartan sample

File contains a sample of the Bay of Quinte tartan, designed by Alex Wilson and produced by Trenton Dyeing and Finishing.

According to the Trent Port Historical Society: "The dark blue blocks of the fabric represented the Bay of Quinte, lighter blue blocks represented the rivers and streams leading to the bay, green blocks signified local fields and parks and the gold threads symbolized the golden future of the Quinte area."

Letter from Frederick Manlis Miller to Thomas Henry Coppin, agent, informing him that Miller had enlisted for active service. Several pages and printouts of 2013 research by Richard Hughes on Miller's family history. Also a copy of a newspaper article on a family history story relating to Hughes' grandmother in England and Belleville mayor George Zegouras, with a copy of a photograph of Zegouras and Hughes.

Gardiner, Rev. James, "Story of My Life"

File contains two copies of typescript extracts from an autobiography, “My Life-Story” by Rev. James Gardiner, D.C.L (b. 1818), written in 1897-1898. The extracts were made by Gerry Boyce in 1960.
Also contains article "When the 'Plain Speaker's' Type was Pied" by H. F. Gardiner, son of James, presented at the Ontario Historical Society in July 1922.
