Also present is a typescript genealogy of the family of George Benjamin who started the newspaper in 1834. The genealogy was prepared by Ruby Milburn, granddaughter of George and Isabella Benjamin.

The essay was published as part of a supplement to the Intelligencer celebrating 65 years of the firm, where the authors are identified as F. C. Ethier and S. D. Hagerman.
