Methodist Churches : list of first ministers, 1815-1831

File contains a photocopied printed excerpt which lists 19th century Episcopal and Wesleyan Methodist churches by location in Belleville. Also contains a newspaper article concerning a former Methodist manse in Unionville, Ontario in 1969, and a newspaper clipping regarding the installation of a new organ at Bridge Street Methodist Church in 1914.

The fonds contains the papers of John S. Turnbull of Belleville, Ontario. Enclosed in the first file is a description of the property of a Mr. Forrin; a notice instructing Mr. Turnbull to pay Mr. James Anderson eleven pounds, ten shillings by Mr. James Turnbull; and a description of the west side of Front Street. The second file consists of items relating to Turnbull's estate including a list of properties he owned, a list of personal effects, the last will and testament of Margaret Campbell, the first and final wills of John Turnbull, and documents pertaining to a dispute over his estate by his family after his death. The third file is composed of various real estate contracts, the fourth file consists of real estate deeds, while the fifth file is made up of real estate leases.

A plan of lot 40 on the west side of Front Street, Belleville, was also part of this collection but is kept separately.

The file contains a copy of the notice of the Sheriff's sale of all right and title of Lewis Day & Henry Day to the South half of Lot No. 14 in the 2nd Conc. of the Township of Kingston, dated 3-December-1828.

Murney, Edmund, M.P.P.

File contains a typescript brief history of the life of the Honourable Edmund Murney, member of the Provincial Legislature of Upper Canada and Canada West during the period 1836 to 1857. Also contains a newspaper article from The Ontario Intelligencer, 13 August 1964 concerning the Murney-Faulkner House, West Bridge Street, Belleville. Includes a reprint of a drawing of the home.

A certified reproduction of the Plan of Marmora Village - part of Lots # 7,8 & 9 in the 4th Concession of Marmora Township. The Marmora Foundry Company by Robert Symes, lawful agent, declares that this plan contains a true description. Depicted are; Coal houses; Grist Mill; Forge Store; and Mill dam. Surveyed by J. J. Haslett, P.L.S. and signed September 1855.

This copy was made in 1972 of plan #70, as registered in the Hastings Land Registry Office.

Plan of the village of Marmora in 1849

A certified reproduction of the "Plan of Marmora Village, part of Lots # 7, 8 & 9 in 4th Concession Township of Marmora." Along the Crow River are buildings: forge, furnaces, coal house, grist mill, sawmill, store. Nelson G. Reynolds, President of the Marmora Foundry Co. incorporated by parliament approved this plan. Surveyed by John J. Haslett, P.L.S. in September of 1849.

This copy was made in 1972 of plan #5, as registered in the Hastings Land Registry Office.
