Education -1916 : S.S 22 Thurlow, Point Anne

File contains a printed report of promotion examinations listing students and their grades, 1916; printed scripture readings for use in religious instruction in public and high schools in Ontario; printed and manuscript Annual report of the Principal, Thurlow, 1929; and various blank, printed provincial forms for the engagement of a teacher and trustees' statement of expenditures. Also contains a typescript will and correspondence concerning Earl Gilbert Wheeler, gunner, Canadian Expeditionary Force, 1917, and a printed preamble to the Covenant of the League of Nations.

Frankford Residents

File contains an “In Loving Memory” card from the funeral of Mrs. Lucinda Bell (b. 1849 d. 1903) of Frankford. There are also newspaper clippings from 1956-1956 regarding the upcoming municipal election possibly seeing record vote, the re-election of H. Willmott Rose as Reeve, the obituary of Gerald William Dickson (b. 1878 d. 1957), an article about the death of former Frankford resident Major James Robert Lowery, and an article about a telegram sent from Queen Elizabeth to Mrs. John Bridget Barry who was celebrating her 100th birthday in 1959.

Gardiner, Rev. James, "Story of My Life"

File contains two copies of typescript extracts from an autobiography, “My Life-Story” by Rev. James Gardiner, D.C.L (b. 1818), written in 1897-1898. The extracts were made by Gerry Boyce in 1960.
Also contains article "When the 'Plain Speaker's' Type was Pied" by H. F. Gardiner, son of James, presented at the Ontario Historical Society in July 1922.
