This land was given to Robert Alexander McWain by Jonathan Emerson Sleeper and recorded in the Registry Office for Thurlow in Book 0. as number 640, dated 29-October-1836 known as Lot Number Nine on east side of Road to Canniff's Mills on Sleepers Plot.

Lt. Col. Marsh correspondence to Thomas Marsh 1915

File contains a copy of a letter dated 22 April 1915 from Lt. Col. Marsh, Commander of the 15th Regiment Argyll Light Infantry, Belleville to Mr. Thomas Marsh, Port Hope. Lt. Col. Marsh was looking for genealogical information for Colonel William Marsh, who fought in the American Revolution and settled in Canada as a United Empire Loyalist.
