Jackie Simpson file relating to Carman fountain
File of correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs relating to the relocation of the Carman fountain from Glanmore National Historic Site to the Moodie cottage in Belleville, Ontario, in 1997, including notes on the history of the fountain. The fountain was at the Moodie cottage from 1997 to October 2019, when the City of Belleville removed the fountain into storage. It was located at Glanmore from 1984 to 1997 and was at Franklin Foley's ironworks from the late 1960s to 1984. It was moved to Fireman's Park at Dundas and Front Street in 1961. It was originally located at the Carman property at Dundas and Bleecker, which was built in 1876.

The photographs include members of the Smith family. Some were taken in Napanee, Belleville, Brighton and Deseronto, Ontario, others in Watertown and Carthage, New York and Plainwell, Michigan.

Information from Eric and Linda Wilde shows that many of these individuals are descendants of Samuel See (1808-1854) and his sister Ann (1803-1871), who married Benjamin Smith (1808-1895). They were born in England and settled in Lennox and Addington County, Ontario.

2) 1961 taken inside Lucky Strikes Lanes, including Hugh and Winnie Magee and Vern Boomhour
3) 1968 Brownie pack picking up garbage on the site of the former Deseronto Public School (blurry). Pack leaders were Dorothea Keech and Bev Boomhour.

Photographs of Deseronto town signs
Colour photographs of the town’s two original “Heart of Walleye World” fish signs and the three signs which were painted in 2006 to replace the old ones. The plywood was donated by the Town of Deseronto and the work of cutting out the fish shapes was undertaken by Tom Usher. Diane Myers painted the signs and the fish scales were done by a man called Gerry [surname unknown] who appears in the last two photographs.

2) W. E. Johnson of Picton studio photograph of three children: Hazel Annie Cole, aged 3 years and 5 months; Murney Nelson Cole, aged 1 year, 9 months; Edna Kathleen Cole, aged 6 months. Hazel was born July 27 1910 in Milford, Prince Edward County – dating the picture to late 1913/early 1914.
3) Felted piece of wood with memorial plaque ‘The Gates Ajar’ and the name ‘Eliza Dodge, 42 years, 4 mons, 14 days’
