Trenton : Ferry license, 1879; Bay of Quinte Navigation Company

File contains a manuscript license issued by the Province of Ontario on 13 October 1879 approving the operation of a ferry from Sidney Township in Hastings County to Ameliasburgh Township in Prince Edward County. Also present are two printed, completed bills of sale, dated 5 November 1880 transferring 64 shares in the steam paddler, Mary Ethel, built at Trenton, to the Bay of Quinte Navigation Company (Limited).

Schools & teachers, 1837

File contains a photocopy of a printed advertisement for a school teacher in the village of North Port, and the opening of an evening school in Belleville, 1837. Also contains a manuscript by-law to appoint a superintendent of schools for the County of Hastings, 1860.

File contains a printed booklet for the Quinte Area Girl Guide Association Gold Cord Certificate Presentation which took place on April 24, 1965. Also contains newspaper clippings concerning Girl Guide fundraising, awards and the opening of the Waupoos Girl Guide Camp in Prince Edward County in 1960.

File contains a newspaper article concerning an early Sulpician mission to the Cayuga First Nation in the Quinte region ca. 1668, and missionization by the Jesuits and Sulpicians among the Wendat(Huron), Mohawk and Oneida in what is now Quebec.
