Point Anne Clippings, 1956-1967

File contains newspaper clippings from The Ontario Intelligencer concerning the opening of Ste. Anne Church and separate school at Point Anne in June, 1956. Also present is an Intelligencer article 30 December 1967 concerning layoffs at The Canada Cement Company, the principal employer in Point Anne.

Northumberland County History

File contains printed booklets entitled List of Voters, Township of Brighton in the County of Northumberland for the year 1881, [and 1883]. Includes several newspaper articles concerning the history of communities in Northumberland County including Brighton, Hastings, and Baltimore. Also present is an article regarding the demolition of the Peter's Rock light near Cobourg in 1957.

McLaren, Rev. William : lecture “The Unity of the Human Race' delivered at the Belleville YMCA, 1860

File contains two printed copies of “The Unity of the Human Race,” a lecture delivered before the members of the Belleville Young Men's Christian Association, 19 March 1860 by Rev. William McLaren, John Street Presbyterian Church, Belleville. Also present is a typescript history of the Belleville YMCA by Vera Weir, produced for the 75th Annual Meeting in 1969.

Moodie, Susanna

File contains a manuscript letter from Susanna Moodie to the County Council of Hastings , 26 October 1869 concerning the death of her husband Sheriff John Wedderburn Dunbar Moodie. Also contains a manuscript motion of the Hastings County Municipal Council, 1869 expressing the Council's regret at the death of Sheriff Moodie.
