File contains original letter written from Vera Ryan to Carl Bateman (Clerk-Treasurer, County of Hastings). Attached is a history of the community of Deseronto in the Township of Tyendinaga.

Tyendinaga - Mill Point Incorporation - 1871
File contains original petition to incorporate Mill Point into an "Incorporated Village" 17 May1871, signed by Edward Wilkes Rathbun and 100 residents of the village. There are also petitions of protest from residents north of the York Road [Highway 2] who did not want to be part of the village. File also includes a plan of the proposed boundaries Mill Point (Map M440-1446).
File contains two copies taken from the Hastings County Directory, 1860-61 with a brief description of Milltown and listing the local business'.
File contains an original letter dated 20-April-1836 from J. Givins, Chief Superintendent Indian Department requesting a list of "squatters" on the land.
File contains a souvenir booklet published by the 1960-1961 Council of Tyendinaga Indian Reserve, Deseronto, that contains stories and photos of the local Mohawk people. The file also contains a brief history entitled "Mohawks of Tyendinaga Reserve" written by Susan Claus, as well as a copy of Gerry Boyce's chapter on the "Tyendinaga Reserve" from Historic Hastings, annotated by Leslie Claus.

File contains brief history of the Parish of St. Charles Borromeo in Read as well as two newspaper clippings from the Intelligencer, one dated 20-August-1968 titled "Burial Site of Early Anglican Catechist Who Served Mohawks Is Rediscovered" and the other dated 27-November-1968 titled "Parish Centre of Tyendinaga Mohawks Endowed with Historical Significance".
