Plan of the Northern part of the Village of Hastings

A certified reproduction of the "Plan of the Northern part of the Village of Hastings. ” The area contained includes; Village of Hastings [now Madoc] laid out on the West half of Lot # 2 and a part of Lot # 1 in the 6th Concession of Township of Madoc. The area is property of the Estate of the Late Colin Russell of Montreal. Surveyed for Mrs. Sarah Russell of Montreal. Originally surveyed by Samuel M. Benson, P.L.S. and produced in December 1858.

This reproduction was made on June 5, 1972 and approved by the Deputy Registrar.

Madoc : Hannah family genealogy

File contains a typescript extract from the Hastings County Court Registry Office concerning the ownership of a piece of land in Madoc Township, granted to C. Gordon Hannah in 1861. The lot is not identified, but information from the land index maintained by the Marilyn Adams Genealogical Research Centre suggest that it is lot 24 in the seventh concession of Madoc Township.

A original plan of Lots 1 to 19 on Concessions 4 to 7 in Madoc Township, with proprietor names on Lots # 8 to 19 on Concessions 8 to 19. The plan is undated, however the proprietors match those of Belden's 1878 Atlas.

The village of Madoc is located at the south. On the left side is presumably part of a legend regarding land use.
