The Intelligencer : early history

File contains an Ontario Intelligencer article dated 14 June 1924 concerning the establishment and early history of the Weekly Intelligencer [later Ontario Intelligencer]. This issue of the newspaper is available online at https://archive.org/details/intelligencer-june-1924/page/n85/mode/2up . Also present is a typescript genealogy of the family of George Benjamin who started the newspaper in 1834. The genealogy was prepared by Ruby Milburn, granddaughter of George and Isabella Benjamin.

Museum Project, Faulkner House 1967

File contains a mimeographed typescript proposal entitled “Belleville Project for the Canadian Centennial : a proposal submitted by certain interested citizens.” The proposal contains a brief history of Faulkner House [Glanmore], architectural drawings and a proposed budget for restoration and subsequent operations.

Scanned copies of two photographs (one a reproduction of a printed photograph) showing the Belleville General Hospital float in the Coronation Day parade in Belleville, Ontario, held on 2 June 1953. The float won second prize in the parade. On the float are nurses Joyce Lott (later Foster), Gwen Hart, Anne Crabbe and Doreen Dorland, with doctors McGreer, Winfield and Barfoot, staged as though performing an operation.

Richard Henry Spencer, Presiding Preceptor of the Belleville No. 6 King Baldwin Preceptory. Also present is a printed booklet of by laws of the King Baldwin Preceptory ca. 1928, and blueprints of the Preceptory Hall, 1926.
