Hastings County Directories 1860-61, 1864-65

File contains copies of business pages from the Hastings County Directory. Business include: Bridgewater Store; Geo. H. Haymes Manufacturer and Importer [of Hats]; G.G. German, Manufacturer and Wholesale & Retail Dealer in Boots, Shoes, Rubbers, and Leathers; The Canton Tea Store; R.A. Becket Bookseller and Stationer; etc.

Hobbies 1963-5

File contains newspaper clipping about various Belleville residents and their hobbies/collections: Percy Gelsthorpe builds steam engine train models, Charles Morton took up whittling during retirement, and Wayne Hustins has a collection showing the rise and fall of the Nazis Empire.

Kilties souvenirs

File contains two copies of “The Kilties: Souvenir Route Book” from 1910 when the Kilties toured the world, a postcard of the Kilties on tour, and paper with the Kilties of Belleville, Ontario letter head. There is also a newspaper article written in 2010 about the history of the Kilties and their tour.

Levisconte papers

File contains manuscript probate documents relating to the estate of Henry Le Vesiconte [Levisconte], Captain in the Royal Navy and later gentleman farmer, and a manuscript last will and testament of Sarah Le Vesiconte, widow of Henry Le Vesiconte, 1856. Also contains a typescript excerpts from the Diary of Captain Le Visconte recounting his voyage to Belleville from England and describing conditions in Belleville upon his arrival in 1835.

File contains two original issues of the Masonic Sun, May 26, 1899 and November 24, 1899. The earlier issue contains a profile of Douglas Ponton, formerly of Hastings County, newly appointed Grand Superintendent of the Toronto District.

Railway : Ponton letters, 1910-1913

File contains a mimeographed typescript letters originating from and received by W.N. Ponton in the period 1911 to 1913 concerning the sale of right-of-ways for railway crossings on lands belonging to W.N. Ponton and Ponton family members in Belleville.
