File contains two manuscript petitions submitted to the Warden and Councillors of the County of Hastings concerning the inability of the incorporated village of Trenton to pay the annual county rate. Also present are : a manuscript report of a special committee consisting of Billa Flint and others investigating the matter and recommending financial relief for the town; and two manuscript resolutions of the council regarding relief from the county rate for Trenton.
File contains eight original uncancelled stamps in one-half to five cent denominations which commemorate the Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897, and two half-cent Canadian stamps from 1870 bearing the image of Queen Victoria. Also present is a Globe and Mail newspaper article, 7 February 1970, discussing the value of a rare 12-penny Canadian stamp, and an Intelligencer article, ca. 1969 regarding the annual Quinte Philatelic Exhibition of the Quinte Stamp Club.

File contains four manuscript resolutions of the Municipal Council of the County of Hastings, 1871 concerning investment in the Grand Junction Railway by the County for a proposed railroad.
File contains a manuscript petition to the County Council of Hastings by residents of the Township of Rawdon, dated 1 November 1871 requesting the construction of a road between Rawdon Township and Marmora for the purpose of moving goods to market or mill, and for the repair of a causeway to Seymore which was destroyed by fire in the summer of 1871.
File contains a printed memorial booklet commemorating the life of Mrs. M.B. Roblin, Belleville, daughter-in-law of Hon. John Philip Roblin, M.P., County of Prince Edward, who died on 31 October 1872.

File contains a manuscript account of votes for the U.C.L & Sc. Soc. [possibly University College Literary and Scientific Society] for which W.N. Ponton acted as a scrutineer in 1877 and 1878.
