File of family photographs

Family photographs depicting people, dogs, scenery, cottage life. 38 photographs have annotations, indicating that they belonged to members of Charles Paterson's family. One of the older photographs identifies two elderly men as D. Butchart and A. Sunter. A photograph taken in the early 1940s shows Sharon Cook, aged about three. One taken in 1945 shows Bob Johnson on Stone Road, Coles Hill.

Notes on the back read: "one of the steps was in fireplace as mantel at Jack Bush's River Road in 1970s. 1940s Stirling News Argus north. Mother (Lyda McKee) bought awnings first after opening tearoom. Whole block was our apt. (Marg Huddleston)"

  • Will Stirling, George, Yorke, Cassie jay, Susie Leavens, Louie Sunter, Annie Sunter, Albert Thompson and Willie Trout having a picnic at "Mountain lake, St. Vincent" (photo stamped "Morton & Raith")

Other photos were taken by H. K. Smith of Front Street, Belleville, W. J. Winter of Meaford, and Forrest & Lozo's of Front Street, Belleville.

The tintype is of a small child. One photographs shows five African-Canadian children standing in a road.

Photograph of a group of 15 young people outside a brick building. A separate index card identifies them as: Dorothy Mott, Jack Chord, Jack Walker, Morley Clarke, Donald Scott, Elmer Mclaren, Garret McKe[?], Barbara Moon (back row) and Edna Johnson, Muriel Hoover, Adeline Bush, Phylis David, Winona Beech, Hebron Thin, Verna Shandos. The handwriting is poor and some of these names are 'best guesses'.
