Taylor Plan 1 in the Township of Thurlow

A certified reproduction of the "Taylor Plan 101-part of south half of Lot # 5 in 1st Concession of Thurlow, now Belleville, for George and William Johnston Taylor and sisters Margaret and Mary Ann." “The Estate of John W. Meyers” should be Estate of Taylor Family. Surveyed by Samuel M. Benson, P.L.S. and signed May 20, 1830.

This copy was made in 1972 of plan #1, as registered in the Hastings Land Registry Office.

It outlines the history of the telephone development in Belleville and of the Ontario Institute for the Deaf's close association with Professor Alexander Melville Bell and his son Dr. Alexander Graham Bell.

Also present is a newspaper clipping announcing an upcoming talk entitled “The Man that Rum Makes,” by Dr. W.J. Fairfield on 21 November 1887, and a clipping about a horse theft in Sidney after a drinking episode by the perpetrator.
