The Wanamaker fonds consists of textual records and graphic materials of genealogical histories of various families. The fonds also contains records, brochures, pamphlets, publications, books, and other textual records from towns and cities throughout Ontario, predominantly from the Quinte Area and Hastings County.

File contains a reproduction of a manuscript diary of W. Hambly, surveyor, for the period 6 December 1793 to 1 May 1794. The diary entries discuss the survey process in Thurlow, Sidney, Huntingdon and Rawdon Townships. Also present is a typescript transcript of the diary with an appended footnote section which contains a glossary of terms.
File contains a typescript copy of notes on the early settlement of Monteagle and Herschel Townships including information on settlement, education, railways and resources. The information was provided by children from Herschel school. Also contains two photocopy pages from the 1889 Monteagle and Herschel Directory listing landowners with surnames A-G.
Notice encouraging emigrants to settle in Hastings County, signed by Thomas Campbell, president, and J. H. Samson, secretary, of the Emigrant Society of the county.
File contains a copy of the Petition of the Inhabitants of Tyendinaga (from the Archives of Canada, Ottawa) dated 24 May 1832, to purchase settled crown land.
File contains a copy of a poster dated 23 June 1835 from the Commissioner of Crown Lands Office, offering specific Lots of Crown Land to be sold at auction.
File of items relating to the founding of Stirling, Ontario, and to education in Stirling and Rawdon, copied from the holdings of the Hastings County Historical Society and the Archives of Ontario. These items were sent to Stirling Public Library by Gerry Boyce.
File contains a booklet titled "The Rollins Family History 1848-1960" compiled by Mrs. Lillie Weese Hubble, Foxboro, Ontario. Published by the Hastings County Historical Society and printed by The Tweed News. The booklet contains family history and genealogy of the Rollins Family from Ireland to Ivanhoe.
The collection reflects the publishing interests of Nick and Helma Mika. It comprises four main series: photographic files, reference files, printing process files and other materials. The collection is strong in local history materials, particularly relating to the history of the United Empire Loyalists, railways, and the city of Belleville.
File contains a typescript extract from the Hastings County Court Registry Office concerning the ownership of a piece of land in Madoc Township, granted to C. Gordon Hannah in 1861. The lot is not identified, but information from the land index maintained by the Marilyn Adams Genealogical Research Centre suggest that it is lot 24 in the seventh concession of Madoc Township.
