Reid Belleville Nurseries; 7) Membership card for Belleville Chamber of Commerce for Mr. W.C. Reid dated June 1, 1928; 8) newspaper clipping from 1932 written by Joyce Kilmer titled "Poems Are Made By Fools Like Me But Only God Can Make a Tree and is about Belleville Nurseries and the late Mr. W.C. Reid.

Cannifton & The Holgate Family

This file contains a personal writing by Maribeth L. Bird of Belleville, dated 1983 and titled "Cannifton, The Seat of Thurlow Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada". It contains: a brief history of Cannifton and the people; several reproduced articles from the Intelligencer (death of a child, Clarence William Holgate), unveiling of a plaque in memory of Miss Mary Cowan, "Reminiscent of a Mark Twain Novel" by John Bateman. The majority of the book is a family genealogy starting with John and Mary Holgate, born in England and Scotland in the years 1791 and 1797. The family history also contains photocopies of family pictures.

Diary/Account Book

Diary/account book of an unidentified lumber merchant from Hastings County, dated 1877. The author mentions shanties, Mill Point and the Rathbun Company, Mr. Wilkie, driving to Robert Bishop's, being at the Mill, attending church, sale of timber in Hungerford Township, daily account for the entire year.

A note from Gerry Boyce in his Fonds Descriptions (Volume 1) reads "Diary/account book for person working for J. A. Buck in Centre Hastings, 1877"
