File contains a printed spiral-bound booklet entitled “The Descendants of Alexander and Grace McInroy, early settlers of Hastings County-Ontario Canada,” compiled by Robert Dean Sherry, great great grandon of the couple, Also present is a supplement to the genealogy produced by Robert Dean Sherry, 1973.

The Intelligencer : early history

File contains an Ontario Intelligencer article dated 14 June 1924 concerning the establishment and early history of the Weekly Intelligencer [later Ontario Intelligencer]. This issue of the newspaper is available online at https://archive.org/details/intelligencer-june-1924/page/n85/mode/2up . Also present is a typescript genealogy of the family of George Benjamin who started the newspaper in 1834. The genealogy was prepared by Ruby Milburn, granddaughter of George and Isabella Benjamin.

Northrup, A.G. Papers: correspondence, financial records and Records of Marriage Licences, 1873-1904

File contains several receipts and statements of account owed to Anson G. Northrup, Esq., Belleville. Includes a typescript note listing two record of marriage licenses issued by A. G. Northrup, who held the office of Clerk of Hastings County Court. Also present is the last will and testament of Mary Northrup, March 12, 1867, executed 5 June 1879.

File contains two manuscript letters: a) to Mrs. Dudley [Helen] Baxter, Frampton Township, Quebec, from an unnamed sender, 8 October December 1842, concerning local and family matters in Liverpool, England. b) to L. McCallum, Esq., Stromness,[Ont.] 10 August 1861 from Buchanan Harris & Co. Hamilton concerning an invoice for dry goods.

McCullough Family : history

File contains a printed booklet entitled “Pioneer Souls : the History of the McCullough Sept,” by Dr. T. J. Harrison, concerning the history of the McCullough Family who originated from Scotland, with branches of the family settling in Hastings County in the 1820s.

New York School of Interior Design : letter from Sheila Chapline

File contains a manuscript letter from Sheila {Burrows] Chapline, registrar and lecturer at the New York School of Interior Design to Mrs. Dorothy Sargent, the curator of the Hastings County Museum thanking the latter for a gift. Ms. Chapline was a descendant of the Phillips family, the original owners of Glanmore in Belleville.

File contains a completed printed registration of the last will and testament of Wellington B. Murney, Belleville, registered on 17 May 1858 before Her Majesty's Surrogate Court, County of Hastings. Also present are the manuscript bequests completed by W.B. Murney.
