File contains a motion from 1859 to ask the Crown to open up land in the North Riding of Hastings for settlement, as well as correspondences regarding the payment of land taxes for 1860-1861.

Also contains a photocopied printed excerpt from W.H. Smith, Canada: Past, Present and Future, with a brief description of Lake Township in 1851.
Madoc : Hannah family genealogy
File contains a typescript extract from the Hastings County Court Registry Office concerning the ownership of a piece of land in Madoc Township, granted to C. Gordon Hannah in 1861. The lot is not identified, but information from the land index maintained by the Marilyn Adams Genealogical Research Centre suggest that it is lot 24 in the seventh concession of Madoc Township.

Giles, concerning early settlement, the erection of schools , lumbering and agricultural development of Limerick Township in the period from 1863 to ca. 1935.
