File contains a typescript letter from the City of Belleville Clerk to the Curator of the Hastings County Museum concerning a request for information on Henry Downey, an early settler in Hastings County ca. 1850s, together with an photocopy typescript letter or request from Mrs. George H. Downey, Tiverton, Ontario. Also contains an unattributed handwritten list of lamps, lighting and literature included in the Paul Lamp Collection, Hastings County Museum, Belleville, 1968.

Fonds consists of records pertaining to Earl Gilbert Wheeler of the 13th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery, Canadian Expeditionary Force. The folders are composed of personal letters to Gunner Wheeler's friends and family written while he was stationed at various posts throughout World War I. It also includes financial documents, educational certificates and other professional and personal papers. In addition to these records, documents containing correspondence about his injury, the search for his whereabouts, as well as his death certificate.

The file contains a writing by Edgar S. Vandewater born in Sidney Township 1876, titled "Belleville as I remember it in the 1890's", dated 1953 and published in the Ontario Intelligencer 31 October 1953. There is also a letter from Richard Moran, great-nephew of Edgar with a brief genealogy.
