Área de contenido y estructura
Alcance y contenido
Correspondence files of Harold D. Bateman, City Comptroller and Assessor. The letters relate to City of Belleville expenditures, property assessments, office supplies, and administrative concerns.
There are two series: the first (files 1-25) was held in letter-sized files carrying letters of the alphabet, with correspondence usually filed under the letter of the surname of the correspondent. However, files I, J, K, L, M, Mc, P and Q hold municipal administration publications, rather than correspondence, and the correspondence for those letters was filed in file 'X,Y,Z'.
The second series (26-59) was housed in legal-sized files, usually with filenames although some were unnamed.
