Belleville Weavers and Spinners Guild

The Belleville Weavers Guild was established in February 1956 by Hazel Hayes, Ida Godden, Florence Ayling, Helen Sulman, Lil Watson, Lily Moult, and Janet Gilroy. Its aim was to "further interest in weaving by sharing ideas and information and by planned programs.” The organization's interests were expanded to include spinning, felting, dyeing and basketry and the word Spinners was added to the name in 1982. By 2002 the Guild's membership had grown to 80 members.

The Building Research Committee was a group of the Hastings County Historical Society which researched the history of buildings, mostly in Belleville. It was originally called the Historic Structures Committee. The work of the group resulted in the publication of two illustrated volumes called 'Belleville's Heritage', published in 1978 and 1983. In 1991 Heritage Belleville produced the Heritage Buildings East of the Moira River volume, which also grew out of the activities of this committee. A second edition was published in 2012 and the volume was made available on the Internet Archive in 2024.

Belleville Lawn Bowling Club

A meeting was held at Shire Hall in Belleville on 16 July 1908 for the purpose of organizing a Lawn Bowling Club. In August 1908 The Daily Intelligencer reported that the club met on "Mr. E. G. [Ephraim George] Sills' lawn." In 1909 John Taylor sold the club lots 1 and 2 on the west side of William Street, Belleville, where it remained until moving to Yeomans Street in 1932. In 2020 it moved to 69 Centre Street, part of the Hillcrest Park development.
