She married George Andrew Logan. Educated in Picton, she lived for sixty years in Belleville. She was a member of St. Columba Presbyterian Church and died on May 30, 1990.

McIntosh, John Alexander (Jack)

John A. McIntosh was born on May 6, 1897 in Belleville, Hastings County, the son of John McIntosh and Harriet Calder. He married Ethel Frances Vandervoort on March 22, 1920. Mr. McIntosh was president of the McIntosh Bros. clothing and dry goods store in downtown Belleville. He died on January 1, 1977.

Beth Purdy was born on August 27, 1900 in Smith's Falls, Ontario. She was the daughter of George Haley and Rhoda J. Pixley. She married Albert Edward Purdy on September 9, 1929. She taught kindergarten for some time and was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church in Belleville. Mrs. Purdy was active in the Women's Christian Association, Hastings County Historical Society, Quinte Morning Music Club and the Hastings County Museum. In 1992, she received the medal for the 125th anniversary of Confederation of Canada honouring Canadians who had made a significant contribution to their fellow citizens, community or country.

Finkle, Fanny Gertrude

Fanny Gertrude Finkle (Curry) was born on September 1, 1895 in Stockdale, Northumberland County. She was the daughter of William Brooks Curry and Selina Isaacs. She married William Henry Finkle, co-founder of Bell Shirt Company Limited, on September 1, 1923. Before her marriage she was a teacher at the Ontario School for the Deaf. Fanny Finkle was a past president of the Women's Association, the Queen Alexandra School Home and School Association, the Women's Canadian Club and the Belleville Community Concert Association. She was a member of Albert College Guild, the YMCA Board and Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary. She died on December 6, 1990.

Cleary, Al (Allan)

Al Cleary lived in Thurlow township in Ontario. He worked for DuPont in Kingston and, on retirement, became active in the Hastings County Historical Society and the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County. He died in 2015.

Buchanan, John Albert

Captain John Albert (Jack) Buchanan was born on April 30, 1896 and died on November 5, 1978. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Buchanan and was married to Pauline Conder. He held a Captain's Certificate for both the Great Lakes and Ocean Boats. His career spanned forty-five years. He was a captain of the Great Lakes Passenger Boats, Niagara Navigation Co., and later Canada Steamship Lines running from Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake. He was also captain of freighters running from Halifax to Duluth. His work entailed being captain of the City of Belleville (McCreary Boat) as well as the Glenora Ferry with the former department of highways.
Captain Buchanan attended Tabernacle United Church and sang in the old John Street Church Choir. He was a veteran of the First World War serving with the Canadian Bantam Light Infantry. After the war he entertained the troops as a vocal tenor.
Captain Jack Buchanan was a life member of the Prince Edward Masonic Lodge of Picton, receiving his 50 years Jewel.

Hunt, C. W. (Claude William)

C.W. 'Bill' Hunt, a former history teacher, business executive, and entrepreneur, retired from business to devote his energies to writing in 1996. He wrote a number of books on the history of the Belleville area including Booze, Boats and Billions and Gentleman Charlie and the Lady Rum Runner. He died in Belleville, Ontario on 30 December 2016.
