Lorne Wilmot Marsh (1871-1928) and William Henry Henthorn (1857-1911) took over the former G & J Brown foundry on Station Street in Belleville, Ontario, after the death of James Brown in 1897. Marsh had been the bookkeeper and Henthorn the superintendent mechanic for the earlier business. In 1912 the firm opened new premises on Franklin Street, where it operated until 1927 (latterly under the name Marsh Engineering Works) when the site was purchased by Stephens Adamson Manufacturing Ltd.

Helen Stewart Masson (known as Stewart) was born in Belleville, Ontario on 15th September 1892. After the death of her mother in 1949 she moved to England and lived there for 22 years. She died in Belleville on 24th July 1982 and was buried in the Belleville cemetery.

Michael Joseph McAlpine was born on January 13, 1924. Between the years of 1942-1945 he was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Throughout his non-military career he worked as an Ontario Land Surveyor (O.L.S.). His wife was Mary Delphine (nee Steenburg) McAlpine (1934– 2013). Michael McAlpine died on August 12, 2001 at an age of 77 years. He was buried in the Our Lady Of Mercy Parish Cemetery at Bancroft, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada.

Archdeacon A.S. McConnell was born in County Fermanagh, Ireland on September 5, 1899, the son of John and Maria Jane McConnell. He immigrated to Canada and later fought in the First World War, enlisting in Toronto. He was married to Mary Emily Rebecca (Ruby) Foy. He became rector of St. Thomas Anglican Church, Belleville in 1955 and Archdeacon of Ontario. He died on June 21, 1978. He is buried in St. George's Cemetery, Trenton, Ontario.
